The NSG Program – Pixelated Reverie

Explore a digital realm where 2D and 3D combine in this unique explorative puzzle game. Solve puzzles that take you between 2D platforming and 3D first-person perspectives as you explore the mysteries of this world. This game was created as the Final Major Project of my third and final year on the Games Technology Course at the University for the Creative Arts Farnham, from September 2023 – May 2024. This was created by myself in Unity 3D, using the C# Language.

This game was a passion project of mine created throughout my final year in University. This game was designed with the decal system within Unity’s High Definition Render Pipeline which move across the wall as a 2D player, which the player can swap between within a 3D space. This creates an effect harkening back to games like Mario Odyssey and Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, and is something I am greatly proud of.

When developing this game’s idea I had created a plan for a full game built from this idea, which I plan to pitch to UCA’s Incubator Studio, which will hopefully begin the game’s development in full. The game created in my third year at Uni serves as a prototype of the initial concept, housed within the first area of the game, which I have presented at Barkley’s Game Frenzy, with people enjoying the game and its concept.
